Alma Church of the Nazarene was organized on February 6, 1958 under the leadership of Rev. Arthur Beard. There were twenty charter members. They met in the Allen home until the church was built. The first service in the new church building was held for Christmas services, 1958. In 1969, the parsonage was built. The new sanctuary was completed in 1976 to provide for a growing church. The parsonage was moved to its present location in 2004 to provide more parking area around the church.

Over the years, the church has been active in many areas of ministry to Alma and the surrounding communities. The “Good news of the Gospel” continues to make an impact of Christ in the hearts and lives of people because of the ministry of this church through it’s dedicated people.

The mission is still the same, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel….” May the Church of the Nazarene in Alma continue to fulfill this mission until Jesus comes.
